Danvil/Philippine Prudential Life Updates and Helpful Tips

A couple of months ago, I blogged about my experience with Danvil/Philippine Prudential Life. I know they promised a refund, but I still didn’t feel secure enough. Neither the Sales Manager or the General Manager, both of whom I have spoken with, mentioned anything about providing me with a Letter of Cancellation or a Statement of Account. It’s a good thing that Neri’s blog entry helped me realize that I needed the confirmation from Philippine Prudential Life. Additionally, my credit card company advised that I would need to submit a Dispute Form so that they won’t charge me with the amount. With this knowledge in hand, my parents, my friend and her husband, and I returned to the Family First/Philippine Prudential Life office around the 8th of November to request for a Cancellation Letter, or for a Statement of Account.

It was really difficult to get the to provide us with the required documents. They tried every delaying tactic they could think of, from explaining that a Cancellation Letter wasn’t needed because they already sent the documents to the main office, to asking us to wait for their Sales Manager. My dad and I ended up raising our voices to the person we were talking to, but it was my mom, who mentioned—and really calmly at that—phoning the media, that got them to give us our Statement of Account. And what do we find out? They were able to print a copy of our Statement of Account all the while! It was infuriating!

Anyhow, if anyone else needs advise on how to get your Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Plan canceled, the steps I took might assist you:

  1. I went to the Family First/Philippine Prudential Life office (SM Southmall, which is the same place I got the plan) within 24 hours to have my account cancelled
  2. Go hardball on them; refuse to listen to any of their reasoning. Take extra measures if required. I even went to the Head of Security to report them before they agreed to cancel my plan.
  3. Have your Cancellation Letter signed by the Sales Manager or whoever you have talked to.
  4. Ask for a Statement of Account from Philippine Prudential Life. It can be requested at the same place you got the plan. The “status” field in the SoA should be filled with “Canceled upon inception”. From what I’ve read on other blogs, you can get this a few days after the actual date you went to their office to cancel the policy. It does coincide with the time I got the Statement of Account.
  5. File a dispute report to your Credit Card Company and attach the Statement of Account and Cancellation Letter. This will ensure that the amount would not be credited to your bill.

I got my refund around December last year. I’m so relieved! I hope more people can get their money back too. Family First/Philippine Prudential Life is a legitimate company, but personally I wouldn’t want to put all my life’s savings in a company that receives such negative reputation.

For those who haven’t been able to cancel the policy within 24 hours, you need to file a letter of complaint to the SEC, making sure that you indicate in your letter how Family First/Philippine Prudential Life’s marketing tactics have violated the Consumer Act of the Philippines.       I’m a call center agent here in visayas and went to SM to go buy pasalubong for my nieces when that agent from PHIL PRUDENTIAL LIFE approached me and told me to go and do a slot machine game for free. It ended up they asked for a 2 hour seminar offering me to buy their plan. I was rrally frustrated and very irritated bec they were really forcing me to buy their insurance. I hope they’d be taken out from SM. nakakasira lang sila sa pangalan ng mall. Mabuti nalang at di ako nadala ng mga manlolokong yun!

    I need your advice..
    I have been a member of Danvil since Oct 2007
    I received a letter from them stating that my payments are overdue and that they will cancel my plan if this continues. How can the payment be overdue? Are they not auto-debited from my credit card?
    How can I cancel my plan with them? I cannot go to their office since I am now based in the visayas….
    Please.. Please…. I really need to get my money back…

    • Hi! I’m not sure, does your credit card bill reflect payment to Danvil?

      TBH, if Danvil says they’ll cancel your plan if you haven’t paid them yet, my advice would be just to let them, haha :) Especially if you haven’t paid them, anyway. If you were billed by your credit card company, though, well that’s another matter. I think it’s best if you try calling your agent or customer service of Danvil re: auto-debit from your credit card.

      If you want to cancel though, you can write a letter of complaint to the SEC. Please see my post for links and more details.

  4. Hi! Kabayan, how about us here abroad who were victimized by danvil. How can we make our cancellation? we cant just go home and leave our work to have a fist fight with Danvil. I was victimized last May 2007. To date, P200,000++ na nahuthot ng bwitreng Danvil. Dugo at pawis ko ang pinuhunan ko para lang masigurado ko ang retirement ko sa Pinas kaso parang ang labo na sa dami ng reklamo sa danvil at tagilid na ang economy, yung legacy na dapat bibili sa Danvil lugi na baka susunod na ang danvil. Please advice me how can I refund my hard money. Thanks!

    • pareho kayo ng situation ng bf ko, pls let me know wat you did, and did you get your money back?.. may bf has been payihng that company for almost 3yrs now, for a $100/month .. so malaki na tlga naibayad nya, and as soon as he told me about that company, naisip ko agad na scam yan, and when i checked it here in the internet, my God i was right! im still trying to convince him to cancel it but he keeps telling me that he wouldnt be able to get his money back, pls, help.. what are the steps you took, did you get a full refund?.. pls email me here karenvergara13@yahoo.com .. ill be waiting for your reply

    planholder ako since 2002 and, sad to say, isa ako sa mga naloko ng danvil (dating family first). pinatigil ko na ang plan ko dati pero ng malaman ko na wala palang maibabalik na pera sa akin, pinagpatuloy ko na lang ang pagbabayad sa isiping makukuha ko rin naman lahat ng binayad ko balang araw.pero dahil sa naririnig ko at nangyayari ngaun sa pre-need industry, natatakot na akong ang pinag-ipunan ko ng marami ng taon ay mapunta lang sa wala.
    please give me advice on how to cancel my plan and refund my money.thanks a lot!

    • Hi Jammy and liza!

      The best bet is to try to see if you can cancel the policy with Danvil directly, although from what I could remember you could only get back a portion of the money you deposited, depending on how much you’ve deposited and for how long you’ve been a plan-holder. If you want to go hardball though, you can always try filing a letter of complaint to the SEC. Get the help of a friend who’s a lawyer or who’s well-versed with the Consumer Act of the Philippines so they could help you in writing the letter; it’s always good to refer to lines from the Constitution to back up your complaint.

      You can also try reading through the comments at the blogs I linked at my post to see if there are any solutions given to people with similar concerns such as yours.

    • helo! miss lisa same yong case natin actually isa din ako sa mga biktima ng PPLC na yan. talagang masama yong marketing strategy nila besides pinapacancel ko ang plan 1 week after na naloko nila ako ang sabi sa akin di na raw pwed cancel at pag cancel ko daw di ko na daw makukuha yung pera na down ko sa kanila kaya umabot ng 6 months hangang ngaun. so nagdecide na tlga ako na eh cancel na no matter what, kaysa huhulugan ko syamas lalaki pa yung cash out ko. so kung meron ka idea kung pano mababawi yung pera mo please share mo naman sa akin ok…thanks…

  8. Hi, Im also a plan holder since Jan 2008. Isa din ako sa napilitang mapapayag ng Danvil para kumuha ng plan nila. Gabi na kasi noon and ayaw parin nila akong pauwiin hangga’t di ako pumapayag. Eh makakagalitan na ako ng mga magulang ko. Naalala ko pa na sarado na ang buong Megamall nung nakalabas na ako. After kong umuwi di ako naging proud sa nangyari, kinakabahan ako na baka scam or kung ano man ang napasukan ko. Pero alam ko na di ko na makukuha ulit ang pera ko kayat pinagpatuloy ko na lang ang paghuhulog sa kanila hanggang ngayong Jan 09. Kaso natatakot na ako sa mga issue about pre need companies ngayon. Nalaman na rin ng parents ko na naghuhulog ako sa Danvil. Pinababawi na nila ngayon ang mga hinulog ko. Sa tingin mo kaya mababawi ko pa kaya yung whole amount ng hinulog ko? Sobrang laki na rin un at makakatulong sana sa nalalapit na panganganak ko. Sana matulungan mo ako.

    • Why not? It’s your money. :) If napilitan ka lang then that can be grounds for them to return your money in full. Just write a letter to the SEC and have them help you in getting your money back. Also, be sure to read up on your Consumer Rights so you have a solid case against Danvil.

    I was able to cancel my plan after 2 weeks na ngpacancel me ng account. Actually I submit the cancellation letter w/in 24hrs. But what I’m scared is it was through ATM, anyone knows how it was refunded. Tumawag ako kanina sabi cancelled na yong account ko, I then ask about my money. tanong sakin kung aware daw ba ako regarding sa non-refundable. Tang-ina , i was mislead and misinformed. Then yong lahat na nkalagay sa papers is not what the agent told me nong presentation. She lied just to for me to sign-up. Is there anything else I could do para marefund yong money kasi cancellation letter lang ginawa ko,

  10. I was also a victim of this last December. Nasa megamall ako ng maharang ako and they kept me in their office for more than 3 hours and won’t let me go unless I get the plan. Sobrang helpless and tired na ko kaya I finally gave them my credit card. The next day I went back and cancelled my policy.Gusto ko na lang syang mapacancel kase ayokong magbayad dahil wala nga akong tiwala dahil sa marketting strategy nila at sa dami ng nabasa ko sa net about them. Inisip ko nga kahit hindi ko na makuha yung initial payment ko kase pinapirma nila ko na walang refund yung initial payment. I went with my mom, brother,uncle and a friend just to make sure that they cannot corner me again to not cancel my policy. Wala namang ganung ngyare kase cguro natakot sila sa tito ko. Pinagawa lang nila ako ng letter of cancellation. I wrote the letter and then returned my documents but I kept the photocopy and let them signed it(as a proof that they received the original copy).They gave me a contact number where I can follow up the cancellation. I called 1 week after to follow up and sabe nila nagholiday lang daw kaya di naprocess agad and magantay daw ako ng 30days for processing. Finally last Thursday I got my refund. It was credited again to my account. Ang pagkakaalam ko mas mabilis ang cancellation kapag wala pang 24 hours napacancel mo na.I’m just so happy that I was able to cancel it and got my refund. I hope makuha nyo din yung money nyo.In my opinion they can’t really be trusted.

    I sent a letter to danvil, SEC and IC last week for the cancellation and refund of my plan.. After a couple of days, a danvil rep called me to inform me that they will cancel the plan and they will only give back 4,500 from the almost 60,000 that I have paid… HELP!!! how do I get my money back?

    I was giving a letter to danvil last week for the cancellation and refund of my plan.. a danvil rep asked me to call for the follow-up of my money back for about 10% of my deposited to them after 30-45 days and they will only give back 6,150 from the almost 61,500 that I have paid… HELP Me!! what will I do to get my money back in full?
    and also my xhusband is getting that for the trust fund for my daughter, he was paying for about 300,000 since 2005, it’s a big money, if they will not back to him, he was staying in Australia now,what he will do to get his money back!!! Please help us

  17. hi guys please help me naman, kumuha din ako last january 2009 ng endowment plan, i paid 24,000 as initial payment but i terminate/stop already my credit card at BPI after reading all bad comments about danvil sa takot na magdeduct sila sa kin ng di ko alam dahil sobrang sama na ng reputation nila.   20. I’m planning to cancel my policy this weekend, and yes, you can get it canceled even it is more than 24 hrs but not more than a month i guess.

    After I get my money back I will use it to take these bastards down, not the company but those involved in setting me up

    They just messed the wrong guy. Sorry for them

    I just knock down 1 of them, 2 more to go.
    Need to make plans something that will make them suffer and will regret for what they did. :D

Can you send me a dispute letter sample for my credit card company? actually i phoned the bank, but they just told me to wait because the transaction if still floating, maghintay muna daw ng actions from the prudential, but i cant wait 30-45days, pls send me sample of dispute i dont want my bank to bill me the amount. thank you hope you can help me..

    • hi shen, i just let jaime bermudez sign my cancellation letter but he threatened that i might not get the full refund of my P16,800 because it would depend on the reasons of why i cancelled it. he said that it may not be refunded at all. may i know what you’ve written in your cancellation letter? what are valid grounds for cancelling one’s life insurance? i really hate those people. and he smiled when a consultant congratulated some poor victim for becoming part of their family. all the while i thought about how messed up it’s going to be for that victim if he decides to cancel the policy because they do give people a very hard time just to cancel. i also did not get the statement of account yet, jaime just said that he will call me for updates. i’m feeling really alarmed because i just don’t trust them. please help

  23. hi! i recently been victimized by danvil…just yesterday (april 5, 2009) in SM CITY CEBU. after reading all the negative comments about the company, i want to have that refund. went to their office and handed them the cancellation letter. the head manager signed my copy of the letter stating they she received. she said the refund will be reflected in my credit card within 30-45days. do i missed something? do i have to ask the statement of account stating that it was already cancelled?

    can i ask a copy of your complaint to insurance commission and sec? thanx!

  24. hi! i was a victim of this scam just yesterday, april 8. upon verification with citibank that they have nothing to do with this company and they are only a “payment channel,” i felt disturbed kaya nag surf na agad ako sa internet. luckily, nakita ko ang website na ito.

    as much as i wanted to run to sm megamall office of PPL, wala akong magawa kasi it’s holiday today and tom. cguro sa saturday open na ang office nila. kung ppunta ako this saturday, pwede pa kaya? can it be said that it is within the 24-hour cancellation policy?

    i have already prepared a cancellation letter. mag-isa lang akong ppunta dun for fear that my family will be angry at me pag nalaman nila. nag-iisip ako ng mgandang strategy para ang PPL can’t refuse to accept my letter and give me a copy of credit memo and/or soa. what do you guys think?

As an update, i went to sm mega yesterday to “confront” danvil/ppl. kaya lang close pa rin ang office nila. according dun sa nka post sa door, they will resume their operations today. since sarado ang office nila at nagaalala ako na matapos ang 24-hour na cancellation policy, i went to sm administrations office to complain. i told them about my problem and gave them a copy of my cancellation notice. pinabalik na lang nila ako today.

    succesful naman ung meeting namin with danvil. i was very firm kasi na since niloko nila ako, icancel nila ung policy at ibalik ang pera ko. i think malaking factor din ung pagintercede ng sm admin office. takot lang nila na hindi irenew ang lease contract nila! hehehe :)

    kidding aside, this experience has taught me a lot … a lot of pain. i’m just very thankful sa mga nagpost dito ng mga experiences nila and what to do. i’ll try to go back again tomorrow to tell you additional info. i’m just very tired and sleepy kasi.

      im from cebu.. i’m also a planholder of PPL since feb 22,2009. last night i went to PPL office at SM, a talked to the manager for the cancelation of my plan. we argue a lot of things coz i really want to cancel my plan and get the refund. from that argument i asked the manager, R U TEACHING UR CLIENTS TO SAVE OR ARE U SELLING THE INSURANCE? she answered, ITS ALL ABOUT SAVINGS AT THE SAME TIME SELLING COZ ITS BUSINESS!!! OMG!!! ITS REALLY A SCAM… (ILAD ILAD JUD ILA STYLE) after that, i asked a clean sheet of paper and wrote in front of her stating that i would like to ask a cancelation of my plan because the plan was not discussed properly.. i discovered that theres a lot of hidden agendas behind… i really want to grab the microphone last night and inform to their clients on what they did to me, but i controled myself not to make a scandal… the manager signed the cancelation but she wrote a note on my letter, DISPOSITION: PLAN CANCELED BUT W/O REFUND… FOR me, w/ her signature she accepted it that they are doin a scam…
      im calling to those victims here in cebu… lets make an action.. i’m planning to report them to the media first and later to the higher officials who have the authority to investigate them…
      I’m still willing to get my refund!!!! pls help…

Hi, within 24hrs I was able to cancel my plan with Danvil/Philippine Prudential Life, and I have my SOA, and told me to wait for 30-45days for the chargeback, but they called after a day, and told me they need the OR and the copy of the transaction slip of my CC. Do I need to submit those docs? I believe they do have their own copy of that, and the slip (there’s the Merchant’s copy, even Bank’s copy). Thank you.

For those na in process pa yun cancellation nila (katulad ko), kindly e-mail me para my balita rin ako kun nabigay na ba yun refund niyo. I canceled the plan yesterday (April 16, 2009) within 24hrs.   33. yes, you have to ask for a copy of the SOA which indicates the status of your policy – cancelled upon inception. although others are saying that you have to wait for a couple of days before they could give you a copy of it, i just waited 10 minutes before they handed me my SOA. anyway, if they have already accepted your cancellation notice wala na sigurong problem. Pero if you want to make sure, hingi ka ng SOA.

    Anyway, have you reported this with your credit card company? Ireport mo para malagay nila sa database/system nila. Ung dispute form usually available un sa website ng credit card company mo.

I got the SOA, which indicates my status as canceled upon inception, on the day that I canceled my plan with them, they have accepted my cancellation letter, and told me to wait for 30-45 days, but a day after, Danvil called me and told that I need to submit to them the original copy of the Official Receipt and customer’s copy of the cc transaction slip. I then called BDO, as it is the POS terminal they are using, as BDO is the one who will communicate to Union Bank, as I am using Union bank visa card. BDO told me that there is a merchant’s copy and a bank’s copy of the cc transaction slip, so it is okay that my own copy of the trans slip stays with me, and not to submit it.

    When I went to SM Mega Danvil to cancel my plan, okay lng naman in 30minutes tapos na, the Manager tried to convince me for the last time, but I said it is final and I have decided to cancel it, and I indicate in my cancellation letter the statement of their VP, Ms. Gina Cruz, that plan holder can cancel their plan within 24 hrs for whatever reason.

    Filing a complaint in SEC? No, not yet, I am still waiting for my refund, and after 45 days I still don’t get the chargeback, maybe that’s the time…

  35. I just got my SOA also, i went to sm megamall today and file my cancellation request, the manager tried to convinced me again and warn that this was a legitimate transaction. I insisted that i’m within 24hrs to file my cancellation and i will file a case if necessary just to get my refund….They issued SOA and advised of 30 to 45 working but i haven’t filed yet a dispute with my credit card company…Does it really need to have the cancellation letter from Danvil or the SOA already enough to file my dispute to my credit card company?

    • Hi dg,

      I filed both the cancellation letter and the SoA to my credit card company. You can ask your credit card company if the SoA is enough, if you really don’t have a photocopy of your cancellation letter. Hope that helps. :)

  36. Hi JR. When i filed my cancellation notice with danvil/ppl, i gave them all the documents that they provided me – including the OR and transaction slip. Ngxerox na lang ako for my file. I also indicated in my letter that I have enclosed all the documents, pra wala silang lusot.

    Kung issurrender mo na sa kanila ung OR at transaction slip, magxerox ka at ipareceive mo sa kanila.

    Kahlah, they will charge your monthly premium with your credit card. Kasama un sa pinirmahan mo – continuous billing enrollment (cbe) form. I suggest na ipacancel mo na ung policy mo by following the procedure mentioned above. The sooner, the better.

  39. hi! i dropped by Danvil’s office today to ask for soa. surprisingly i got what i needed frm them after just 30mins of waiting since the representative attended us. my advice to those who are having a hard time transacting business with them regrdng the soa is to research blogs of other victims and learn frm their mistakes, also you will know the do’s and dont’s while talking to them (eg. not allowing them to take the orginal copy of ur receipt,coz they will ask for it), and if you have contacts frm the press,do ask for help because there are only two things these guys are afraid of and that is lawsuit and bad publicity (quoted frm my friend frm press). my friend frm the press was the one who arranged my mtg with the customer service person of danvil. she talked directly to the main office, and the main office endorsed me to the southmall branch. so wen i got there,it was just a short talk rgrdng my intent to cancel. no questions asked nor any more persuasions frm the employees. i was able to cancel my soa even 2days fter transaction. i am now processing my dispute letter for the bank,it will take long but at least now am off the hook. goodluck to those others who are still in the process of getting the soa,hope my advice could help.and hopefuly this type of marketing stratgy will be stopped soon specially now that SEC just cancelled Prudential Life’s license (as i heard frm the news today). thnk you for all those who placed their comments coz it helped me a lot knowing wat to do and wat steps to take. thanks for the empowerment at the time i felt so helpless.

    • hi, i need your advice. the asst sales manager told me that he could not guarantee if i would get my full refund because he said it would be based on the reasons stipulated in my cancellation letter. what confirmation do i need to know if it really has been cancelled and that i will get my full refund? it’s unfair if i don’t get my full P16,800 initial deposit because i cancelled it 2 days pa lang since i signed up

Hi, guys, victim din ako tulad nyo, after 1 week napa cancel ko pa ang plan ko ant sinurender ko lahat ng docs s knila, kaos nag xerox ako ng copy ko, after nun bngayn nila ako ng SOA na cancelled from icneption at siunend ko sa CC compny ko after 30 days of waiting naibalik na nila nag 19200 na na kuha nila s credit card ko, tip lng, weekly kyo tumwag s danvil para mag follow up, wag kyo pupunta ng monday dahil close, hanggang 30days pde nyo sya i cancel. ang kinatatkutan nila, ung mag wawala ka sa danvil at baka may makrinig at mas madami png mawalng customer sa kanila.

  47. Hi, I’m from CEBU, i was a victim too. It happened last April 18, 2009 that was Saturday. When i dropped by to SM mall, one of the agent called my attention and ask me if I’m using credit card, and ask me if this is master card? As answered yes, to her, she told me congratulations for using and for that you won freebies from us, the same story of what other victim they had convinced by the agent, who said they had to invite you to see first their office and join their promo, but they said their not selling anything, all you have to do is to know their company and get the raffle like winning the car and lottery or what ever it is. And that time i don’t know what happen to me i was really convinced by them for about 2 hrs of discussing their product. Telling me good things daw for my family’s future and etc. Sad to say i get the plan, i paid them the initial deposit of Php6,520 using my credit card. When i got home, it almost late as I arrived around 9 pm. I was about to get worry when i realized what if it was a scam. And also i realized that kind of life insurance where i got now, it was too expensive not like other insurance that i used to know also, a little bit cheaper compared to them. Its just like they hypnotize people of their selling strategy. So, i started to go over and check their profile to the internet, luckily i got this site and read some of the blogs, unfortunately i had the plan already. Until now i don’t know what to do, i still not have peace of mind, because i have to pay the bill of my credit card of paying the endowment plan for next month. What my plan now is i want to cancel it. I went back to them on the following day. But they told me i wont get the refund instead resume my plan. But still I’m not sure and continue to pay the monthly. I had already blocked my credit card for my assurance they can’t debited the amount for the monthly. Until now I’m still bother and have regrets of what happen. I still want my money back!! :-( Could you guys who have already get back your money, please give me advice and send me also a sample letter of cancellation and where to address it too..     • hi, im from cebu too and victim rin ako ng Danvil na yan… i got my plan last april 21… what i did was, i filed a complain sa SEC and Office of Insurance Comission then i consulted also sa NBI about it… then ngpass rin ako ng cancellation letter sa Danvil on the 3rd day tapos g.signan man sad ni Jaimie Bermudez but at first he tried to convince me to continue my plan, e.stop lang daw ang monthly dues ko… hindi niya ako ndala talagang gusto ko nang e.cancel ang plan ko. The following day, i got my SOA then kinuha nila lahat ng documents ko including the OR pero hindi nila alam ngpaphotocopy ako… WISE NI!!! mgfax pa ako sa Metrobank then mgwait nlang daw ako nang 30-45 days for the refund. Just read blogs about danvil and im sure mka.kuha ka rin ng mga tips in how to claim your refund. Thanks to all!!!

      • hi, i would like to file a complaint to SEC as well, i just don’t know how to. i got so scared coz jaime says that it’s no guarantee that i will get my full refund because they have grounds and higher management will look into the reasons i stated in the letter. i forgot to mention that i was duped because my letter was so long already and i thought that if i admitted my mistake of just signing without thinking then i won’t get my refund. please help me. i will help you if you got plans in bringing their company down. just last night a lot of people signed up, kawawa talaga :(

Sakit talaga balikan yung time na yun kasi it just didn’t took much of my time (which is 2 hours plus lng naman noh!grrrrr) and my php 6650!I really insisted na ayoko mag-enroll sa plan…inaway ko na nga eh kasi ayaw nya talaga akong palabasin kasi nga kailangan ng PE or proper exit daw!kailangan pa daw ng go signal ng manager!eh ako naman hintay lng kasi mabait na tao ako eh ayoko ko ring masibak xa o ano…30 minutes na lng after I said “no” hindi pa rin ako nakalabas!inis na inis na ako at i felt frustrated kasi kailangan ko na talagang bumili ng ticket para makauwi ng Dumaguete…kaya sa frustration ko at sa pagmamadali ko binigay ko na lng ang credit card ko for checking lng daw if ma approve ng bank, eh na swipe na pala! goodbye money!!!umuwi ako in tears kasi pinagalitan ako ng bf ko atsaka wala talaga akong pera para pambayad!baon na ako sa utang!

  58. This blog really helped me solve my problem. At last ngaun cancelled na policy ko. Hintay nlng ako ng 30-45 days para ma reverse ang pera sa credit card ko. But bago ko na ipa cancelled ngpakahirap talaga ako. This was my story:
    I purchased the policy last march 03, 2009. On the following day I went back to their office to cancel my plan kc sa ngaun mahihirapan tlaga akng mg bayad. However their agent told me d pwde ma cancel. Wala akng nagawa kundi ng pa oto, nkinig sa mga explainations at pumayag sa mga options na binigay nla sa akin. Few weeks after ng pray talaga ako kay bro na tulongan akng ma cancel ang policy ko at mabawi ang pera. Tapos ng internet ako pra mg check sa frndster nang biglang pumasok sa isip ko ang mg research tungol sa prudential. And that time nkita ko ang blog na ito at mga comments dto. Dto ko rin nalaman na marami pla ang na biktima na at meron dn na pa cancelled ang plan nla. Ds blog gave me hope talaga.
    Last april 03, 2009 bumalik na nmn ako sa office nla pra ipa cancel na talaga ang policy kasi ayokong bayad at d pa ako ready mg bayad ng monthly due. Ang sabi ng agent ok lng dw ma ipa cancel ang policy but it will take 30 days of processing. Pra mawala dw ang worry ko sa ist monthly due ko on april 15, 2009 ay pinasulat ako ng letter that request hold payment. At sinunod ko nmn. Pinabalik lng ako after 30 days. Last may 02, 2009, I went back to their office to check the status. Only to find out na hold payment ang nka lagay. As n! naloko talaga ako. Sinamahan ako ng frnds ko that day. Bali 3 kami lahat. At inaway nmn ang agent nla na c MARILYN. As n nahirapan tlaga kami maepacancel ang plan ko na with refund. Ang sabi ng agent ok lng ma cancel kaya lng walang refund! Ano??? Kc daw beyond 30 days na. e wala nmn sa policy nla bout beyond 30 days, dba? Hangang sa ng request kami ng mga kaibigan ko na sa manager nlng kami makig usap kasi almost an hour na kaming nkig debate sa agent nla tapos wlang nangyari. Tapos ang manager na ang nka usap nmn. Same pa rin. Pareho clang lahat na mga matitigas! Hanggang sa gumawa ako ng cancellation letter infront ng manager at d lng bsta cancellation yun, denetalye ko rin kng panu nla ako pinahihirapan. Then I ask d manager to sign it and gv me a copy of it. at lumabas akng walang nangyari.
    Two days after (may 05, 2009) ay tumawag sa akin ang taga danvil/prudential informing me that the policy will be cancelled but no refund. But I still have d option dw. That is to hold the policy for 5 yrs. I answered na “ pg iisipan ko muna”. After we talked and hang up the phone, I immediately called their manila office :02-636-3645 or 02-634-5294 local 324. The gril on the other line, whom I talked to, asked me to make a cancellation letter and state there about my complain kng pano ako pinahihirapan ng staff nla dto sa cebu and fax it to 02-631-3228 and attention it to JENNY STA. MARIA. Yesterday morning (may 06, 2009), I faxed my cancellation letter to their manila office and I also send a complain letter to ocom@insurance.gov.ph, pubassist_ic@yahoo.com.ph, jose.aquino@sec.gov.ph, and mis@sec.gov.ph. I got those email from bob’s blog. Yesterday afternoon, I received a call from danvil/prudential informing me that my policy had been cancelled and asked me to return all the documents they had given to me so that they can process the money back. And last night I went to their office to return the docs and gave me my SOA in exchange having now the status of CANCELLED FROM INCEPTION. I’ll just wait 30-45 days for my money to credit back to my credit card.
    That is why im so thankful sa blog na ito, sa bob’s blog at lahat ng mga ng comment kc binigyan nyo ako ng hope… Godbless.. and lahat na on process pa, Goodluck sa n u..

I got my CC bill yesterday hindi pa talaga cya na cancel, mg.interest na ako pero hindi pman umabot ng 30 days of waiting pero sayang din itong perang e.nterest ko… Hindi ba ito m.refund??? Layo pa ang 30 days… Anyway, i got an email from OIC, copy ng letter na pinadala nila sa Danvil pero sabi nila wait ako ng 30 days rin. Tagal naman, gusto ko ng gamitin tong credit card sa ibang bagay hindi ko m.gamit kasi inubos ng DUMPVIL na yan lahat ng credit ko. Gusto ko na talaga silang e.report sa media para mpahiya cla sa lahat na ginawa nila.

  70. They gave me a very hard time to cancel. They kept on talking in circles, but you just have to stay firm. If you have to raise your voice at them then by all means do so, that’s what I did and I was already talking to the asst. sales manager. they will tell you that it might not be refunded so you’d have second thoughts. but i was able to have it canceled anyway and was told that i will get my refund in 30-45 business days. don’t be fooled by all their retention attempts. i even threatened to call my lawyer, haha i was really hysterical then. what a nightmare that was! whoever is in cebu here may contact me thru coffeebeanblush@gmail.com, i’d be glad to help you guys out.

  73. im also a victim of marketing strategy ng DANVIL. bago pa lng yung creditcard ko at honestly speaking, d ko pa alam pano ito gamitin..nangyari sakin yung step by step strategy nila but d ako pumayag magmember. tiningnan nung isa creditcard ko and sabiko activated yung creditcard pero dkopa nagagamit mga 4mos na..sabi nya bka dw d na pwede..then sinabi nila verify dw nila creditcard ko and may sinasabi syang 16,800. dko alam na automatically mababawas pala un and obliged ako magbayad sa bank every month. so, im askin them if i was already a member but d ako pumapayag..pinapirma ako ng mga docs nila for filing lng dw pero kung gusto ko dw marefund, bumalik dw ako kinabukasan. so, bumalik ako and i file for cancellation and got the copy of the documents. kya lng yung cancellation na ginawa ko, ako lng nakapirma but ung original copy ay nasa kanila. the manager said that i can get my refund after 30days..and now, im still waiting para mag 30days. tama ba ung ginawa ko? ako lng kc ung nakapirma sa cancellation letter.. pls advice. tnx

  81. hi guys.. just want to add up here.. i was victimize also by this DANVIL and as what all said, i have the same story, they swiped my card even they just told me that they will see if the bank will allow me.. how pathetic, verifying is different from swiping!!!! i thought they will call the bank to verify,, anyway within 24 hrs i send a cancellation letter to their office since i read all the comments in the net and i already talked to my bank regarding what happened. I thought I am going to scream or i need to be scandalous just to let them sign my cancellation, but it was different, i went there and waited in about 10 mins and then they called me and let me stay in a small room then a customer service agent talked to me and start saying things,,, but i don’t want to hear any convincing tactics anymore.. i said im going to cancel it now! they said that i signed the contract and i should understand that it is a one year contract.. i just said “NO! I WANT TO CANCEL IT NOW! I ALREADY TALKED TO OUR LAWYER” and since i am working in a insurance company i know the steps in acquiring and canceling a policy.the girl start trash talking again but i won’t allow her to finish,, i gave my cancellation letter stating that i was canceling my policy and i am returning all original documents to them and i also include that they should return my payment. eventually the manager signed my cancellation letter. before i go, the girl told me that i should give the original copy of my OR and transaction slip since it is needed to void my payment in the bank but i didn’t give it. It was saturday so banks is off and they cannot give my SOA so i need to call them again to follow up. i already talked to my bank and tell the whole story.. i was right you should not give your original OR and transac slip since it is your copy, upon reporting they take note of my complain and they are just waiting for canceling the transaction, if ever they won’t cancel it my bank will handle the next steps. I talked to our friend who is a lawyer and he can sue anyone there if they do shit things again! ^^

      sorry now lang ako nka.update sa site na ito… anywayz, nkuha mo ang refund mo? i got the email add from Neri’s blog, hope u can find it too, try to follow.up your letter of complaint from SEC or IC na mlapit sa inyo. What i did is i sent an email to SEC and IC pero ngpass rin ako sa SEC and IC dito sa region namin, follow.up kalang palagi sa regional office… then after 30 days you will reciv a letter from them. Try mo lang kasi yan ang ginawa ko. Hope everything will be okay.

  83. i didnt send any complaint letter to the SEC, i only submit a dispute letter to my Credi card and they will do all the process, i attached my cancellation letter with all the documents that they had signed. Anyway i called danvil to follow up my cancellation and the status was already cancelled. i just need to wait 30-45 days to reverse it to my CC. You should go to Danvil personally so you can ask for the real status. Email will take long process so you must act quickly to avoid more complications.

    • i remember that guy.yes he is the sales manager of sm pampanga office danvil. and we were victimized by this manager by just meddling from the presentation i was attending. ang ayos ayos ng presentation ng presentor ko pgkatapos bigla nalang syang ngyayabang na kala mo kung cno, at nagulat nalang ako ng biglang sabi nya “ma’am alam mo ba kung ano ang sinasabi ng kaharap mo?ipon lang yan ma’am, willing kabanag mgipon?, sabi ko oo! at kinuha nya ang credit card ko at dinala ako sa cashier sabi ko hindi pa ako ready, sabi nya pano daw ako magiging reagy kung hidni muna ako mgpa approve chaka most likely daw hindi rin ma approve ang credit card ko kasi na didis approve ang mga visa card sa kanila, kaya sabi nya pa diapprove ko nalang.sabi ko ayaw ko kahit disapprove,sabi nya points sa presentor ko, at they swiped my credit card at pumasok. ayaw kong mgpirma so ang sabi gawa akong cancellation letter. nung gumawa ako sabi naman ng isa pang manager na c robert, ibabalik daw nila ang pera ko pero babalik na lang daw ako at kailangan pirmahan ko mga application.

    Hi.. thanks sa number nimo. Pero la lang ko katawag kay out of load man ko always oi..ehehe.. anyway thanks again sa advice. You know what na cancel na jud nako akong policy. As in ako jud gibalik ngadto. At first dili unta nila i honor kay mao lagi kay almost a month na daw ako policy. Nya there is rules daw nga w/in 24 hrs. no cancellation of policy it means okay ra ang imo gikuha nga plan. Pero ga lagot ko kay gi deny pako kunohay check2x sila sa ila system nga naka record daw. Ana jud ko that day pagkuha nako sa plan nag doubt nako so the following day i decided to go back there just to cancel. Maayu nalang sa pagbalik nako this week lang dili na si Bermudez ang ako gika storya kato na ang head. Ana pa siya naa daw sa record ako complain is about the payments and the credit card status ra daw ako concern bla.bla.. ana ko “NO” its about cancelling it. So maayu nalang na kept pa diay nila ako CSR daw kato slip pag mag visit ta mo fill up ta ato.
    As denial kay sila first. Maayu gani na consider jud nga cancel jud ako policy.
    Sad thing lang kay sa amo company were almost 6 ang nagkuha sa plan not only me lang diay. Nagkuyog pa mi sa 3 nko ka officemates as in sorry jud ang ila refund. kay almost 30 days na daw toh. nya wla man sila complaint na heard from them. So wla na grant ang ila cancellation sa plan.
    How true kaha nga ang uban nga na victim nila nakuha pa ang refund. Kung almost ahead of 24 hrs. na ang ila pag cancel sa plan? Imoha ni balik jud ka right after sa pag kuha nimo sa plan?

Kagaya ng kwento ni Drew tinanong ako kung may credit card ako and said I only use ATM. Suddenly the agent congratulate me and told I got a chance to play their promo game which may win 10,000USD and a Honda Civic car. The agent accompanied me to their office to play the game and telling I have nothing to pay or buy. I started become worried when the agent asked me to check first how amount of money I have in my ATM, namalayan ko na lang nai-swipe na yung ATM ko at nakita nila na meron P86,000 na laman. Sabi nong agent qualified daw ako sa promo. Akala ko that time eh maglalaro na kami iyon pala ay kakausapin pa ako at dun na nag-umpisa yung mahabang paliwanagan. Tulad ng experience ng iba napuna ko na parang ayaw ka nila paalisin hangga’t di ka kukuha ng endowment plan daw nila. Ang una eh dapat magdeposit na daw agad ako ng around P57,000 pero of course tinanggihan ko, sunod na alok eh P27,000 P19,000 P9,000 pareho kong tinanggihan. Muntik na ako mapapayag sa kadahilanan gusto ko na umuwi ng Bataan pero buti na lamang eh may usapan kami ng misis ko dalawa kami magdedesisyon kung involve ang pera sa isang transaction, so kaya di talaga ako napilit nila. That time, single pa ko and inisip ko na lang, kesa sa wala mapunta ung pera ko, cge na lang, AT LEAST MAY AASAHAN AKO PAG DATING NG PANAHON!

    April 2008, ng-resign ako sa work and I got pregnant in July. Ilang months din akong di nakapaghulog so naisip ko, instead na bayaran ko ung ilang months na un plus interest, i-terminate ko na lang ung plan.. Tutal, tamang-tama, magagamit ko ung money sa panganganak. November 2008, pumunta ko sa Danvil office. Purpose of visit: to terminate my plan/account. That time, I was 4 months pregnant and hindi naman ako nahirapan mag-explain ng reason why im quitting dahil sinabi ko na im no longer employed & that i need money for my delivery. I was expecting that I will not be able to get the full amount because of interests and all, so prepared na ako dun. To my horror, they said that I cannot get anything from the rider plan because it was already inactive due to missed payments. Goodness! Almost 13k nahulog ko dun! I requested if there was somebody I could talk to maybe to plead.. to bargain.. kahit magkano na lang makuha ko dun sa 13k.. Umalis ung staff, tatanong nya daw sa higher up nya.. Pagbalik nya sabi lang sakin, sorry pero ganon daw talaga ang policy nila.. Oh my!!! Goodbye 13k!

    The staff computed how much I will be getting from the original policy/plan.. Then the shock of my life came. She said that I can only get 20% of my total contribution! P^&*#@*^%!! I can only get P12,694.40 out of the P63,472.00!! What the?!! Hindi ko maipaliwanag naramdaman ko nun! Gusto kong umiyak, magwala, mag-amok! Nagpakahirap akong magtrabaho para sa mga MAGNANAKAW!!

    Hindi ko alam gagawin ko nun. Kanino ako lalapit? I was so helpless. Sinabi ko sa staff na hindi un na-explain sakin when I availed of the plan. I believe I can get a decent amount should I decide to terminate the plan. Humingi ako ng copy ng contract o kahit anong kasulatan na nagsasabing 20% lang ang makukuha ko after a certain time. Wala xa ma-present sakin. Wala dw kasi ung docs nung mga nagbebenta ng plans and dun sa office na un, hindi sila nagbebenta so wala silang copy.. Hindi ko alam iisipin ko.. I felt so stupid! Gusto kong humingi ng tulong sa mas nakakaintindi ng mga ganung bagay.. I wanted to seek legal counsel. Pero d ko alam kung san magsisimula at pano ang gagawin.. Kinulit ko na lang ung staff kung bakit ganon lang ang percentage ng makukuha ko.. E wala din xa ibang sagot kundi, ganon talaga ang policy nila. Gusto ko na lang matapos ang bangungot ng Danvil sa buhay ko!!

    So pikit mata, kahit masikip sa dibdib, nakapanlulumo at masakit isipin, sinabi ko na lang sa sarili ko na na-holdap ako ng mga pusakal na magnanakaw!! Gusto ko nang makawala sa Danvil na un so tinanggap ko ung offer nila! I just wrote a letter requesting to terminate my plan. Mas napabilis ung proseso after kong pumayag siguro kasi baka magbago pa isip ko at makaisip pa kong humingi ng tulong sa kung kanino..

    They said, after 3wks or a month ko makukuha ung cheke.. Just bring the requirements & follow-up ko na lang sa hotline nila.. Nanghihina pa din ako nung lumabas.. Wala akong pinagsabihang iba dahil ayokong masisi pa ko.. Mas makakadagdag lang un sa awa ko sa sarili ko..

    January ko na nakuha ung cheke.. Un nga, P12,694.40. Pinapirma nila ako ng quit claim releasing them from whatever obligations they have for me.. Sige na lang.. gusto ko na mag-move on…

    After 8 mos, ngayon ko lang nabasa 2ng blog na to.. I know its too late.. Pero parang nabubuhayan ako ng pag-asa na balikan ung Danvil na un!! Pera ko naman un e! I could have put that to good use.. Nagpapakahirap akong magtrabaho ngaun!

    Anyway, if there’s anyone who had the same experience or anyone who knows what to do in my case, please advise me on what to do.. I would be so much grateful for whatever advice you can give me… Thank you so much!

  106. Hi.. aq dn super worried.. i got the scammed at SM City Cebu last july 2009 and they got 6,000.00 from my credit card. I was in Cebu at that time for a scheduled check-up. So as i wait for my cousin to arrive at SM i spent minutes on Danvil-PPL because who knows by just listening at the company’s profile i might win a dollar or a car? then as i was having conversition to their saleslady on a table, they asked me for my credit and atm card for a verification but i never thought they will swipe my card. how could i know that they will already swipe my card when the girl beside is still explaining the plan? i was so so surprised when i saw the receipt plus they want me to enter my pin for may atm card because they said my initial payment is not enough but i did not do it. they said if i want a refund i will get it after 15 years at the end of the plan so what can i do? i was really worried because i am just an extension to my sister’s credit card. then when i got home after 3 days, i got a call from my sister about a transaction with Danvil-PPL reflected on her account and then i explained to her what happened. She filed a despute but it was refused. now i can’t use my credit card because im so shy to my sister.

Kakauwi ko lang sa pinas noon mga 1 week palang since dumating ako nang nagpunta kami sa SM cebu para mamili nang gamit sa bahay. Nang hinarang ako ng mga manlolokong agent nato at tinanong kung gumagamit ba ako nang credit card. Sinabi ko naman oo.. den may rewards daw ako matatanggap dahil sa pagamit nang credit card. Akala ko theyre part of BDO at first kasi nakaharang sila sa tapat nang BDO bank. Eniscortan nila ako patungo sa itaas sa office nila at iyong agent nagsimulang ngexplain sa akin na napakalabo at bigla nalang nag ask sa credit card ko patingin daw. In short nahypnotize talaga ako pinakita nya yung mga taga abroad na naginvest nang malalaking pera doon. Nang nalaman nyang nakabase ako here in USA pinilit pa akong kumuha nang malaking halaga. Nakainitial deposit ako nang 48,000 thousand pesos. Pinacancel ko kaagad sana iyon after 2 hours but dinala nila ako sa loob nang cubicle nila at sinabi di na daw makansel, pinahirapan talaga ako at ino oto na naman at na oto nanaman ako pinakita pa yong papers nila na legitimate sila dahil si gloria daw nagcontratulate pa sa kanila. after a month sinabi ko sa sister ko na ipapacancel ko na talaga kasi i found out im pregnant at hindi na ako makakapagtrabaho, i have alot of bills to pay here plus iyong sa kanila pa na automatic deduct sa credit card. nakahulog na ako ng tatlong 4,600 at iyong initial deposit ko na 48,00 total lahat is 61,800. paano ko ba makukuha iyon? Ayaw nilang ibalik sa akin ng pinapunta ko ang sister ko doon nagawa ako nang special power of attorney para ipacancel iyon but hindi daw pwede kailangan daw ako magpunta doon.. nakakainis na talaga malaking halaga na yon at maitutulong na sa gamot nang nanay.   113. helo to all victims of danvil/philippine prudential life… try to send a letter of complaint to DTI since they are the implementing agency of Consumer Act of the Philippines regarding the violation of some articles of the Act.. Just study the articles before you cancel your application of the plan so that you have enough knowledge bout the Act… Since, in their Raffle Draw, they said they are exempted from DTI Permit, just ask DTI bout it, and bout their marketing strategy with high pressure, just read the articles and include it in your letter of Complaint to SM ADMIN, DTI, SEC, and Insurance Commission..

  115. Please help me.. I got my policy last week of May. Noong nakuha nila yong card ko gusto ko sanang ipacancel kaagad after they deduct $1000 dollars in my credit card for inital deposit.. Pero pinahirapan nila ako at ang sabi legitimate sila ni recognize pa nga daw sila ni Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. They show me the papers and yong mga policy nang mga overseas workers din na kumuha nang 300,000 pesos etc etc..

    In short na oto naman ako.. till I got back here in United States at doubt pain ako kaya pinapunta ko sister ko doon at sabihin na ipapacancel ko yong policy ko and i want my money back.. Lalo na ngayon na 6 months pregnant ako at hindi nako pwedeng magtrabaho pinatigil ako sa doctor. Sabi pa naman nila dapat daw personal kong i settle yong cancellation. Naiinis talaga ako lagi parin silang deduct sa card ko.. nang tig 100 dollars a month.. please help me im so desperate na jud what shall i do…

    another tip, if you get a plan and swipe your credit card.. tapos natauhan ka after 24 hours…. ang gawin mo lang, write a cancellation letter, gawan mo ng diskarte para lang mapirmahan nila ang Cancellation Letter mo.. Then wait for the bill of your credit card, then kung nacharge yun, file a dispute to the credit card company with your Photocopied Cancellation Letter. try that, pwd rin tawagan nyo muna ang Agent sa Credit Card kung ano dapat gawin…. ok??

    hi. everybody.i welcome myself as one of the latest victim of this what you called scam.walang hiya tong mga agents na yan.galing lang ako ng bpi para mag deposit at paglabas ko nakasalubong ko na tong bading na agent ng danvil.thier using this PPL name para seguro di halata.I just came home few months ago kaya wala talaga akong idea sa mga gaent na to. on my first few days pagpunta ko ng sm deadma lang ako sa kanila at d ko alam kung ano tumama sa akin bakit napasama ako nung bading na yun.sabi mananalo ako.may pasabi pa na alam mo na sino babalatohan mo pag nanalo.romeo is her este his name.sa SM CEBU.tapos dun sa office nila sa 3rd floor besides LTO which will be a unforgettable place for me and i will never forget this particular thing happen in my life. this will be a nightmare for me.at doon na ako sa loob wala pang tanghalian and they serve ice tea. it took me 3 hrs para pumayag ka sa gusto nila.pressured ka talaga sa ginagawa nila.hindi ka nila hihintoan sa pag explain tungkol sa future at kung ano2x pa.kaya sa huli mapa OO ka talaga sa gusto nila.ang bilis nila mag process pag nag YES ka na. At ito ang napapansin ko.wala ka pang na fill upan na papers yung card ko deducted na ng amount na 16,800 WTF, and while writing their form tutulungan ka pa nila magsulat HUH.ganito ba talaga ang matinong business. and while going home dun ko palang naisip ang mga bagay na scam kaya yun,totoo ba yun, d ko naman narinig pangalan nila sa radio, TV o sa internet.when i got home nag browse talaga ako and thanks sa inyo mga brod at may mga blog kayo d2. nagpuyat talaga ako para mabasa ko ang mga comments nyo and paano magpa cancel kasi wala na akong peace of mind and its true its a huge relief pag napa cancel mo yung policy account mo.the next day agad nagpa cancel ako.luckily na cancel naman nila.and now starting to count 30-45 banking days daw.hopefully ma refund yuung pera ko.thanks sa inyo mga bro.

    advise ko lang sa magpa cancel ng policy account nila. dun kayo makipag sa MANAGER mismo.wag sa ASSISTANT MANAGER lang kasi i think walang power yung assistant manager na magsabi na cancel his account.kasi ang nangyari sa akin assistant kumausap sa akin and it took me 90 minutes of wasted time wala pa dun ang pag antay ko na magpa cancel ako.total of 2+ hrs ako nasa mala impyernong lugar ng danvil PPL SM CEBU.wag rin kayo pumayag sa options ibibigay nila na mag downgrade o mag loan after a year.dapat cancel talaga sa mismong oras na yun. and i remember yung last word ko para pumayag ang manager na ma cancel yung account. ” KUNG HINDI NYO KAYANG ECANCEL ANG ACCOUNT NA YAN SA IBANG AHENSYA NA AKO MAGREKLAMO NA MAKAKAGAWA NG MAG CANCEL SA ACCOUNT NA YAN” and the next words ng manager telling her assistant.”BIGYAN MO NA NG CANCELLATION LETTER” and while talking to them dapat ikaw kadlaasan magsalita.wag yung tulad ng una na sila nagsasalita lagi hanggang mapapayag ka.pwede mo ma cancel ang account mo with any reason and you dont have to write any reason sa cancellation letter.ang importante yung policy number dapat naka indicate dun
    at yung date kung kailan effective yung cancellation.totoo talaga sinabi nila its a big relief na makawala sa policy insurance nila.ngayon makakatulog na ako ng maayos.sana ma refund yung initial ko.within 24hrs naman ako nagpa cancel.i just feel so sorry sa mga bagong acknowlege na members nila.i’ll keep you updated guys for the refund.gudluck to all.

    send your complaint letter to DTI… I think it is also useful to complain to that agency. just be firm… send also to them the flyer of the Sales Promo they are conducting… Because, as I know they still have to secure a DTI PERMIT in conducting sales promotion, and they are giving “daw” 10,000 US dollars and a HONDA CITY CAR for the winners… Such a BIG AMOUNT.. (even there are lots of clients canceling their policy…. where they will get their prize money.. hehehe)

  121. hi, just read all of the comments posted by people who were duped just like me. I got my plan from Danvil some time 2006 pa and faithfully paid my dues gang January of 2008. Then I sent them a letter to temporarily suspend their auto debit from my account due to financial constraints. now I don’t think i will continue paying them dahil sa mga nabasa ko dito and dahil wala na rin akong pambayad. Problem is, can I still refund all the money paid to Danvil? Kasi may tumawag sa kin na agent before saying na 10% na lang daw mbabalik sa kin in case i pa cancel ko sya. Also, may I please have a copy of the cancelation letters you sent to Danvil? Thanks!

  122. Hi i am also a victim of this Danvil Prudential Life here in SM Cebu last September 27, 2009. After a day i canceled my SOA with them, my stepped was i went to SM admin first and made a complaint report there. So SM admin called out a representative from Danvil and settled this ahead that Danvil will give a document to promise us to return our money back from our ATM savings within 30 working days (starting Sept 29) they said that it would be on November 9, 2009..(my monthly debit will start on Nov 1). But i still doubt about the document they gave until now because they refuse to state there that they will discontinue my monthly bills. I seek advice to my bank and the bank said that they dont have the power to stop the auto debit from Danvil, what the bank ask from me is to provide a hardcopy with signature where Danvil must state that they will discontinue my monthly auto debit. So today i will go back to SM Cebu and report back again to SM admin and hopefully they can help me with my favor. I will tell you guys what would happen next to this so i can share to you my experience..at least i can help

  127. hello po sa inyo… around three weeks ago, i received a phone call from PhilAm Plans ata yun, aying I was referred by someone and I have a Php25k worth of Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage from them. Sabi pa, in order to claim it, I need to present three valid ID’s. My sister went to PhilAm Plans Cubao office to claim her cash loan check, since I remember the phone call, i gave it a try. I was asked to sign form, then the first person who talked to me, asked for a Bank ID and he told me the credit card will do, also he asked for my company ID and gov’t isued ID so I gave him my Driver’s License too. After that I was introduced to a Receiving Manager, she looked nice and presentable. She started praising me, asking me personal questions then she said she knows something that might be of my interest. She told me not to let my sister know because it i a limited offer and not everyone qualifies for that offer. I asked her to tell me more about it, after some presentation, she asked for my HSBC credit card, asked for my other credit cards then she left, she said the approval will take about 3-5 mins. When she came back, she introduce me to a Unit Manager, then they have a landline and they’re trying to call HBC. they said my card was declined, I got confused as to WHY they SWIPED my CARD?!! HSBC said they charged my card Php 11,000+. The had me sign on the receipt and said I was approved for a Php50k plan. They let me sign other forms, sobrang bilis ng mga pangyayari. Walang explanation, they just let me print my name and sign them all. I tried reading them but the fine prints and lengthy words made my tired eyes grew even more stupid. Di ko siya naintindihan, and since I have my sister waiting for me outside, i was in a hurry. When we got home, I reviewed the photocopied paper they gave me. I saw that it was a for authorizing them to charge my HSBC credit card, and I am expected to pay the other amount of Php 30 before november ends.

    It was around an hour when we reached Home and I contacted the Lady I talked to, I told her I want to cancel it, and she said Low-batt na yung cellphone niya. She asked for my landline and I waited for her to call. Then I sent her a text message, I begged for her to help me cancel it. And she is prepared with her rebuttals like “so yung budget yung primary concern mo?” and also “if you will not be asked to pay 30K will you still be interested to continue with the plan”. She said ipapa-approve daw niya sa mga managers niya then she wil update me, 24hrs have passed, I still didnt get a feedback. I dont know what to do. Please tell me how to cancel this.

    Yung nasa paper “Progidy and Educational Plan ang nakalagay, and i remembered the manager saying “yun kasi yung naka-register sa SEC”… oh.. my.. i really don’t know how they made me say Yes to it. I just really went there to accompany my Ate and to check the offer for Accidental Death and Dismemberment kasi sabi i-claim ko lang. Then I am torn now.

    My mom said di daw ako nag-iisip, which is true, I still cannot accept that I agreed to something like this. I am only 23 yrs old and working for less than two years. I have other bills to pay. and yung 11k na charge sa credit card ko is too much, even more the 30k that they are asking me to pay on the 13th of November.

    Help me naman po.. I understand yours was bout Prudential. Mine’s from PhilAm Plans. I dont know where to start disputing this. Should I call HSBC? How do we dispute a charge on the credit card and how can I cancel this when they have the docs with my signature on them.. :(

Sabi naman nila i just have to wait for 30- 45 days para macredit back yng initial deposit on my credit card, i just hope na mcredit back din yun sa time na sinabi nila, thanks guys, this will be a lesson for me.. update na lang if nakuha ko na refund.. thanks & godbless..

  133. Hi, my sister was a victim of these people (I was almost a victim as well but I remained steadfast and refused their sales pitch). Currently trying to get the credit card company to block their payments as we are overseas and cannot contact them easily.

    However, I was thinking about all this talk about getting hypnotized while in their office. Did any of you drink the iced tea they offered in the waiting room AND with the sales person? Those drinks may have had something in them….

They really have a great tactics and strategies that will lead you to say “YES” to their plans. As I got home last night. I don’t feel at ease, I hurriedly search for the company via online and have found out that it was a scam. I immediately go to that place the next day to cancelled the policy.   136. November 12, 2009 ng maloko ang barkada kong probinsiyanong seaman sa SM Southmall, kamukha din ng karanasan ng iba na pipilitin kang bumili ng insurance, ikukulong ka dun sa opisina nila sa loob ng apat na oras kukumbinsihin ka talaga.

    Noong araw din yun binalikan namin para i-cancel yung nabili ng insurance plan , pero bigo kami kasi kinorner na kami ng mga matatabang babae- yun yata ang bouncer dun, talagang hindi raw pwede kasi nakapirma na. Hindi ka talaga mananalo sa kanila, pinalabas nga ako kasi hindi naman ako ang plan holder yung barkada ko siya na lang ang pinaiwan. Mga bastos talaga ng mga P*@#ng Ina , hihiyain ka talaga.

    Kinabukasan pumunta na kami sa Philippine Insurance Commission, sa may UN Avenmue, ikinuwento namin ang mga nangyari, mukhang alam na ng customer service ng insurance commission ang ginagawa ng Danvil pero nagtataka lang ako bakit di nila pinapatigil ang ganitong panhihikayat ng mga agent , pinapunta kami sa main office ng Prudential Life Insurance sa Ortigas, kinausap naman kami ng matino nung costumer service at duon namin kinancel yung plan. After 30-days na-ibalik uli sa bank account ng kaibigan ko ang pera.

    Huwag nyo ng palampasin ng 24 hours para ma-cancel, punta muna kayo sa insurance commission at bibigyan kayo ng referral letter.

    Nagtataka lang ako bakit pinapayagan ng SM ang style na ito, kay ingat kayo sa pamamasyal sa SM, pag may nagtanong na may credit card layuan mo na at baka isa ka na sa mabiktima ka nasa huli ang pagsisisi.

  143. I am also a victim of that fuck’n insurance company and when I request the cancellation, they give it back to my credit card after a month but I payed the interest on my credit card (almost 600 Php).

    Every time I go to the SM Mall and see those fuck’n guys(Agents of Prudential life) all I am thinking is I will kill them all… without thinking whatever the outcome be.

  148. haizzt, this site was a great help to me, kc nun nbasa ko ito, instead na magpatagal pa eh kinabukasan din after i signed up (june 12) eh nagpa-cancel na agad ako ng policy ko sa PPLIC. sobrang insistent nila up to the last minute na nagca-cancel ka na, kesyo gusto pa irestructure un plan ko.. & shempre, un mga allegations na cnabi ko sa cancellation letter ko eh lahat may ready cla na sagot, like nde cla ang dating family first, instead, cla lng daw ang nagtutuloy ng mga plan holders ng family first (so magkaiba pala yun sa lagay na yun, bleh!), ireprimand daw nila un promo agent if nagpanggap sha na tga SM megamall, tas meron pa cla iba story abt why wala cla sec registration eh dba dpat lahat ng legit companies merong sec registration. kaya in the end, i end up citing na lng the primary reason kung baket im cancelling my policy contract, which is ayaw kc ng husband ko nun insurance na ino-offer ng PPLIC, kc in the first place dpat nman hiningian ako muna ng approval/permission ng spouse for the validity ng contract.

    bsta, naiinis lang ako kc i didnt see this one coming, iwas na iwas pa nman ako sa mga sales agents ng insurance sa mall, un mga nagtatanong if may credit card ka… eh eto iba ang ploy nun promo girl, nsa starmall ako buying lipstick sa revlon kiosk, tas un sales agent eh lapit sa ken after my purchase, sabi bigyan daw nya ako ng gift item, fill-up lng daw ako nun pamphlet nila for inventory tas sali na rin daw ako sa game nikla kc may car raffle daw cla sa sm, she even showed me her sm id (it did not dawn on me na may sm id nga pala lhat ng tenants ng sm), tas sinilip din nya if may credit card ako kc requirement lng daw un pero nde nman daw nya hahawakan. when i told her na nagmamadali kc ako kc punta pa ako ng megamall, sabi nya samahan na rin daw nya ako kc dun din sha papunta & tamang-tama kc andun lang un ofc nila, i though na okay lng kc dun nman tlaga way ko… we went up to the 5F, nde ko na napuna na its the same ofc ng family first dati (later on ko na narealize un). tas wait ako sa lounge nila then pagpasok ayun na un presentation na 45mins but maigsi lng daw un bsta oo ka lng ng oo. puro kwento lng muna un sales agent about personal things, super haba, cguro 90% ng presentation nya is about my and her personal life. tas all of a sudden eh ipresent na nya yun plan na right for you (mine is regular endowment daw na 175k after 15 years) pero i have to debit 24,160 sa knila, nun una nga eh 50k pa ang gusto eh sabi ko nde ko kaya yun monthly premiums nun, kaya ibinaba nya (yaiks, i was actually haggling na pala that time) even if i told her na i have to consult my husband first. the next thing eh mamili daw ako between 250k & 175k endowment if alin ang kaya ko tas the next thing eh nsa pos machine na kme auto debiting 24k. hiwa-hiwalay un receipt nila comprising of the initial deposit, 1mo advance + additional insurance benefits chuva. tas ayun tuloy tuloy na, ambilis, tas pipilitin ka pa mag sign sa auto debit form for the monthly premiums khet paulit ulit ko sabihin na mag-over the counter na lng ako, SOP daw kc nila un kaya bawiin ko na lng daw before my next due date. khet sabihin ko na decided na ako na over the counter ang gusto ko, nde daw pede talaga kaya i ended up signing it. and nde daw pede na sa ibang araw pa ako mag sign kc i have to act now (i wonder why, bket magsasara na ba cla kinabukasan kaya nde na pede bukas? and the thing is, nagpa-pressure naman ako sa knila, arrrrrggghhh!)

    on my way home, dun ko na nramdaman na mali un decision ko, pagdating ko ng bahay, lalo pa nagalit husband ko nun nlaman na nde ko man lang sha kinonsult. nde na ako nkakain from dinner til kinabukasan. kaya nun umaga i googled for PPLIC, eh ang una lumabas sa google eh about dun sa scam nila kaa lalo tumindi kaba ko. kaya right away eh nagpasama ako to cancel my policy on june 13. nireceive nman nila un request fro cancellation ko after all the delaying tactics & convincing prowess nila to convince me again.

    i am now awaiting na maibalik nila ung 21k sa atm ko, tumawag nga ako ngaun sa head office nila requesting na cheque na lng ang issue sa akin but sa atm daw tlaga & 30-45 days ang processing. haizzzt, sobrang tagal eh within seconds nailipat ko ung pera sa knila tas un pagbalik nila eh more than a month pa eh nsa records nman nila na cancelled na un policy ko. i hope and pray na sana mabawi natin ng buo un pera natin lhat, hard earned kaya yun.

    dpat malaman din ng SM na PPLIC is using their name to gain the trust and confidence of mall goers… such dirty tactics…

  149. Ako naman sa Debit card ko kinuha yung initial payment. I had it cancelled yesterday by having my SOA reflect cancelled from inception (CFI) at pinareceive ko yung letter of cancellation ko. Ipapadala pa daw nila sa Manila (I’m in Iloilo) but I’m afraid na bawasan padin nila ako sa July 15th eh sa Friday may salary nanaman ako sa debit card ko na yun. Gusto ko na sana ipaclose pero I need to wait for the refund pa. Lesson? Don’t just give out your card number lalo na ang payroll! Kainis ang tanga2 ko talaga.

  150. Sa policy, may nakastate sa #11 na pwede i-cancel pag 15 days but I guess if aasta kang galit at talagang alam mo ang ginagawa mo aaksyon naman sila kaagad. Takot din naman sila na mag eskandalo ka eh lalo na’t may mga tao silang “pinepresentan”. Kaya be firm lang as they will still try to sway you.

  153. hi. ngayon kolang nakita ang mga feedback tungkol sa Danvil/PPL isa din sa mga biktima ang husband ko last June 2009 pina initial pay nila husband ko ng 39,971. Tapos ng mag collect sila for another quarter deposit lang daw sa Danvil pero nong magbinta cla ng indownment PPL lang naman ang company name na dala nila. Ano po ba kaugnayan ng Danvil sa PPL? Wala kc dito ngayon husband ko nasa labas ng bansa pinapafallow up nya lang ang tungkol sa insurance nya dahil gusto nya rin ma cancell to makuha nya pa kaya ang pera na hinulog nya? Ano kaya ang dapat naming gawin

  162. …hi i’ve just read all the blogs of our kababayan …i am also one of the victim of that company,,,u see im livin here in japan and i went to phil. last july2010…ewan ko ba kung bkit napa ennganyo ako na mag sign dyan s policy effect ever n yan…ang sbi p nung agent after that about 70 thousand pesos first payment debited by credit card ang next payment is feb 2011 ….auto debit daw…i check my internet banking wla nman na auto debit …then today i receive a letter from the PPLC saying that my policy is PAST DUE …. how is that happend kung aouto debit nman yun… ang gulo2 …kya sna ako din i want my money back if i cancel that policy…pls help me what should i do ???? thank you….

  164. Naghuhulog husband ko since nov2010 ng monthly premium for.endowment plan. This dec2011, naaksidente sya and fractured his left arm. Sabi nun agent na nakha ko sa sm north wala kami makuha money unless dead na sya. At waiver lang ng mnthly premium kung permanently disabled. So ayun, di namin alam saan kukuha ng pambayad pa sa monthly nya since wala naman work hubby ko until gumaling sya.
